Leadership Giving is your opportunity to take the lead in, and be recognized for, making our community strong.  If your individual gift, or your gift combined with your spouse's or partner's, equals $500.00 or more, you qualify for our Leadership Giving Program

There are many ways to make generous contributions that improve lives in our community. Your gift can be structured to suit your individual financial situation.

Cash – Contributions of cash given in the form of a check or through payroll deduction plans are deductible up to 50% of your adjusted gross income and can produce significant tax savings.*

Securities – You can take advantage of the growth of your portfolio by donating appreciated securities. Gifts of long-term appreciated securities can be deducted at their full fair market value, up to 30% of your adjusted gross income. Also, such gifts also avoid the capital gains tax you would incur if you were to sell the securities. Giving securities provides you with a double tax benefit, effectively lowers the cost of your gift, enabling you to give more than you thought you could. You need not handle the actual certificates to make a stock gift; simply tell your broker and he or she will transfer the securities to United Way of Northeast Kentucky. *

Life Insurance – Naming United Way of Northeast Kentucky as a beneficiary for all or part of the proceeds of an insurance policy can provide tax benefits for you and support those in need.*

Planned Giving – Through planned giving, you and your family can benefit from making a gift to United Way of Northeast Kentucky.  Naming United Way as a beneficiary of your estate will allow United Way to improve more lives in our community and enable you to transfer your assets to your heirs at a substantially reduced gift and estate tax cost. As you and your financial advisors structure your overall estate planning, please consider leaving a legacy that extends your lifetime commitment to United Way of Northeast Kentucky.*
