Jerri L. Compton, Executive Director
Jerri was born in Pike Co. KY and grew up in Logan, West Virginia, the daughter of Jerry and Gale Thompson and the youngest of their three children. She graduated from Logan High School in 1992 and headed to Huntington WV to attend Marshall University, where she studied social work and graduated with her bachelor's in 1996. Jerri moved to Ashland in 1997 for employment in the healthcare field which led to many travel and leadership opportunities. While working full-time, Jerri obtained her master's degree in strategic leadership from Mountain State University in 2003. After an extensive career in healthcare, marketing and finance, Jerri was selected to head United Way of Northeast Kentucky in April 2013. She and her husband, Kevin, have been married since 1999 and reside in Cannonsburg KY with their cat, Woody.
Sandy E. Childers, Director of Operations and Finance
Sandy was born in Lawrence County, OH and graduated from South Point High School. She is the daughter of Clifford and Mary Childers and the oldest of three children. As a single mother, she raised three children while working full-time and pursuing her college education in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky. Her previous work experience involved office management and information technology. She worked for United Way of Northeast Kentucky from 1999-2012 before moving to Northern Kentucky to expand her knowledge in business administration at Cincinnati Northern KY International Airport in the Safety Security and Compliance Department, while spearheading the United Way Campaign there. The non-profit pull called her back to this area where she returned to UWNEK as the Director of Operations and Finance in March 2016.
Trisha D. Robinson, Resource Development Coordinator
Trisha Robinson grew up in Rush, Kentucky. She graduated from Boyd County High School in 2006, and attended Morehead State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies. She is the daughter of David and Christine Whitley. Trisha is married to Michael Robinson; they reside in Summit along with their three dogs, Hopa, Guster, and Dash. Trisha loves helping others in whatever capacity she can, and being a part of the United Way team allows her to serve the communities of Northeastern Kentucky by encouraging community partners to give, advocate, volunteer, and LIVE UNITED.
Laci Ingles-Hammond, Administrative Assistant
Laci was raised in Boyd County and is a graduate of Boyd County High School. She attended ACTC and earned an Associate of Science before going to Morehead State University to earn a BA in Elementary Education and a MAT in Secondary Mathematics. After college, Laci taught in the public school systems for 12 years before leaving the workforce to become a full time homemaker. Laci enjoys spending time with friends and family, Watching UK basketball, crafting, and watching her youngest son play sports. Her passion for United Way’s work drives her toward making our communities, families and future stronger. Laci and her husband Mark reside in Cannonsburg with their youngest son James, and have a son Blake and granddaughter, Kyah.
